These are crafts I've made recently. Some of them are gifts and some are for our own enjoyment.
Thanksgiving Tree
I got this idea off of Pinterest...the home of a wealth of ideas. |
I painted a tree onto a canvas. We went to my brother and sister-in-law's house for Thanksgiving. This was to be a "Thank You" gift for hosting us all. I used fall colors for the leaves (all acrylic paint). Each person in attendance put their thumbprint on the tree, right down to my 1 year old. They loved it!
Personalized Christmas Sign
I made this sign for my in-laws as a Christmas gift. A dear friend actually made one for my family and I loved it. I decided it would be a great gift to pass along.
My mother-in-law loves leopard print. I found some leopard tissue paper and mod-podged it onto the wood and added a little bit of scrapbooking bling (she loves sparkly things, too). All paint used was metallic acrylic except for the words. I used a black paint pen for all writing. Sealed the whole thing with a coat of modge podge.
Simple Solution-Ear Bud Tin
Having bronchitis may have had me down physically a few days, but my creative juices never stopped. I took a Sucrets cough drop tin, mod-podged scrapbook paper on top, then mod-podged a picture of my babies on top of that.
Now it's a great holder for my ear buds. Could even be used to carry medicine, hard candies, a little sewing kit, lipstick...the possibilities are endless! Small and compact for your purse! I may even mod-podge some more scrapbook paper on the inside so I can cover up teh "Sucrets" logo. LOL!
Valentine Wreath
Made on 1/28/12 - a Valentine wreath made out of ribbon loops. I used various widths of valentine ribbons cut to 4.5 inches long. Glued about 1/4-1/2" from the end to form the loop. Spread the ends open and glued to a ribbon-covered wreath form. I used Fabric glue, but it would have been much quicker with a cool temp glue gun. Found the tutorial through Pinterest. Here's the link:
This picture really doesn't do the colors justice. I took it with my phone; my good camera is not with me right now, so maybe I'll add another pic later.
Simple Valentine Garland #1
2/8/12
This is an adorable and easy little craft to do some simple decorating for Valentine's day....a paper heart and tulle garland.
The hearts were a printable from the following link:
I printed the hearts out on some cheap photo stock paper from the dollar store and used double-sided tape to attach them to fishing line. I then tied small pieces of pink and white tulle between each heart to add a little fluff.
Very cute hanging in my window!
Simple Valentine Garland #2
2/10/12
Here's a cute, easy paper garland for your mantle. Cut out hearts from different pretty scrapbook papers. Then cut out the inside of the hearts (save the "solid" hears for another project). Cut the hearts at the bottom tip and link inside another heart. Tape back together with clear tape. So easy and so cute!
