Elf on the Shelf

This tradition started with our family in 2011.  Some of these are borrowed ideas and some are my own.  Either way...it's been fun!

Choo-choo!!!
Pep riding the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Choo-choo
Our elf's name is Pep. He came to us just a few days before Christmas in 2011, so we only got to enjoy his antics for a short time this year. This was his first one. He built a railroad track out of foam craft pieces. The train was my my son's birthday present in November. He loves Micky Mouse Clubhouse.
Friendly Reminder
Sweet Message
Pep left a reminder for the kids the second night he was there. Instead of pen and paper, he used Christmas M&M's.

Christmas Cards
Season's Greetings
On the third night, Pep painted Christmas cards for the kids. We figured out that "Pep" was short for "Peppermint". My daughter had a friend over to spend the night this time. Pep was a perfect host and made sure our guest received a card, too.
Sledding
Pep folded my quilt over and laid it on top of a pile of couch pillows.  He then made a sled out of candy canes and a piece of cardboard covered in wrapping paper.  So fun!

Pep Meets Rapunzel
Friends
Pep made a friend while he was here. When we woke up we found him having cocoa and M&M's with Rapunzel.
Merry Christmas!
Paper Gate
Christmas morning, Pep left us a real surprise...he taped crepe paper all across the door entering the living room. The kids had to bust through it to get to their presents.

Last message for 2011
Pep left a note taped to the crepe paper letting them know he would see them next year. Back to the North Pole!
