Tennessee

I was born and raised in Memphis, TN.  I lived there for the first 23 years of my life, got married, and found myself on the east end of the state for the next 13 years.  I have come to love the state in its entirety...even more so now that I am no longer in it.  Illinois doesn't hold a candle to the beauty of Tennessee in my book...both in nature and in people.  But that is my opinion, so no offense to any of you native Illinoisans.  You might possibly feel the same way if you suddenly found yourself planted in what I call a "foreign land."  This page is a tribute to the places and people I love in Tennessee.  All photos have been taken myself, just to ensure that I have not used any copyrighted photos of anyone else.

Winged Beauty
I caught a pic of a butterfly in a cherry blossom tree in our front yard on a beautiful spring day.

Party Time!
Candy!!!

Best pinata bust I've ever seen captured on film. This was at my daughter's 7th birthday party in 2010.

An old homestead in the loop

My husband carrying my little girl on his shoulders in a meadow.  We had just come from looking at a black bear in a tree.

 And here's the black bear

He had been napping in the tree.
